Worsley: Kitchen and Dining Room Transformation
Our client had a tiny galley kitchen to the rear of the property, with just a small door leading through from the dining room. We suggested removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room, blocking up the original back door, and taking out the false ceiling to create a vaulted one in its place.
The vaulted ceiling, reaching over 3.5m at its highest point, allowed for two new Velux windows to be installed, bringing in a lot more natural light. The wall opening itself was less than 2m wide, but combined with the vaulted ceiling it gave the illusion of far more space than the numbers suggest, transforming a tight, closed off kitchen into a bright, open kitchen diner.
Prestwich: Wider Opening for Bi-Folding Doors
We recently completed a project in Prestwich to replace the client's smaller patio doors with wider bi-folding doors, opening up the back of the property and creating a much better connection to the garden.
The key to this project was minimising the visible frame on the inside. The client's son uses a wheelchair, so a smooth, unobstructed opening was essential for him to move freely between the house and garden. We created a wider structural opening and worked closely with the door installer to make sure the finished result gave the clean, low-profile threshold the family needed.
Glossop: Load Bearing Wall Removal for a New Kitchen
Our clients in Glossop wanted to move on from their dated, pokey kitchen to something more modern, with space for an island. To make that possible, we removed the load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room and blocked up the original dining room door, opening the whole ground floor into one connected space.
We also put the clients in touch with a trusted kitchen fitter, who installed their new kitchen along with new flooring throughout the ground floor, finishing the project off exactly as they'd pictured it.
Cheadle: Cost-Effective Opening to Help a Sale
Our client in Cheadle was struggling to sell their property, with buyer feedback consistently pointing to the kitchen being too small. Rather than a full-scale renovation, they needed a solution that would open the space up without a large price tag.
We created smaller structural openings to give the property that open-plan feel buyers were looking for, achieving the effect cost-effectively and helping the client move their sale forward.
Altrincham: Correcting Non-Compliant Structural Work
Our clients in Altrincham came to us part way through a difficult renovation, after their previous builder was let go due to multiple building control compliance issues. One of the elements we corrected was installing the correct size lintels over the doorway, bringing the structural work up to the standard it needed to be.
Because the rooms had already been plastered, we took care to keep any disruption to a minimum while carrying out the repair, giving the clients a properly compliant, safe structure without undoing the finishing work already in place.
Ashton-under-Lyne: Chimney Breast Removal for a New Kitchen
In preparation for a new kitchen configuration, our clients in Ashton-under-Lyne wanted to remove the chimney breast downstairs only, leaving the upstairs untouched.
We installed the steel below the joists rather than through the floor above, avoiding any damage to the finished bedrooms upstairs. This meant the clients got the open space they needed downstairs for their new kitchen, without disturbing rooms that had already been completed.
Bury: Opening Between Living Room and Dining Room
Our client in Bury wanted to create an opening in the wall between the living room and dining room, connecting the two spaces and improving the flow through the ground floor.
The change made a real difference to how the back of the house felt, allowing a lot more natural light to reach an area that had previously been quite dark.
Radcliffe, Bury: Structural Steels for a Luxury Self-Build
Our clients in Radcliffe, Bury are undertaking a huge self-build renovation, converting what was previously a three-house plot into one substantial luxury home.
We were brought in to handle the structural elements of the project, as the clients weren't confident carrying this part out themselves. We removed two large openings and installed the steels required, forming the foundation for what will be a massive kitchen once the wider renovation is complete.
Northwich: Open-Plan Kitchen, Diner and Entrance
Our clients in Northwich wanted to create an open-plan kitchen, diner and entrance from what had previously been separate, closed-off rooms.
We advised on the best way to achieve this and installed the steels along with a steel post, keeping the remaining section of wall to a minimum so it wouldn't interfere with the clients' kitchen design.
Stockport: Steel Installation for Rear and Side Extension
Our client in Stockport is undertaking a substantial extension to the rear and side of his property. We were brought in to handle the steel installation required to support the project.
This included a goal post steel frame to carry the back of the original house, along with a steel frame to house a 6m bi-folding door at the rear of the extension.
Dukinfield, Ashton-under-Lyne: Open-Plan Space for a Growing Family
Our client in Dukinfield wanted to remove the wall and chimney breast between his lounge and dining room, alongside creating a new opening for bi-folding doors.
The goal was to give his young children a bigger, open-plan space to play in, and the combination of the two openings transformed the ground floor into one connected, family-friendly area.
