A load bearing wall supports the structure above it, whether that's a floor, a ceiling or the roof itself. Removing one without the correct structural support in place is dangerous and non-compliant. At SHD, we manage the entire process: confirming load bearing status, specifying and installing the correct steel beam or RSJ, and handling all building regulations so the work is fully certified on completion.
NON-LOAD BEARING WALL REMOVAL
Non-load bearing walls are used to divide rooms rather than support the structure, which makes them simpler to remove. That said, they still require a proper assessment before any work starts. There may be electrical wiring, plumbing or heating pipework running through the wall that needs to be safely rerouted. We handle all of that as part of the job, so nothing gets missed and nothing gets left half-finished.
